You

You’re a growth-obsessed copywriter who lives and dies by the scroll. You know that the best idea in the world doesn’t matter if it doesn’t stop a thumb in the first half-second—and you’re just as energized by cracking that hook as you are by the bigger brand idea it ladders up to. You write fast, you write a lot, and you write in variations: five headlines when one won’t do, a dozen hooks to find the one that earns the click. You’re fluent in the native language of paid social—Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc—and you know the difference between an ad that performs and an ad that just looks good in a deck. You’re data-curious: you want to know how your copy actually performed, and you use that signal to write the next thing better. You’re production savvy, from testable quick-turn UGC-style content to bigger campaign moments. You’re ready for a challenge—something that satisfies and expands your craft, your curiosity, and your microbiome.

This role reports to the Creative Director (Copy), and is an opportunity to do amazing work alongside a wonderful assemblage of talented and kind human beings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own Growth Creative Copy: Develop performance-driven concepts, hooks, scripts, headlines, supers, primary text, and CTAs across TV, Meta, TikTok, YouTube; Think beyond copy alone to how messaging comes to life within the full ad.
  • Write for Volume and Velocity: Generate large sets of testable copy variations to feed an always-on testing cadence, working closely with media buyers and performance marketers to know what’s working and why.
  • Iterate on Performance: Use performance data (hook rate, CTR, CVR, CPA) to inform your next round of copy. You treat every test as a brief for the next one.
  • Extend Across the Funnel: Bring growth-minded copy to landing pages, email/SMS, and other conversion touchpoints, in addition to top-of-funnel ad creative.
  • Steward Brand Voice: Keep performance copy unmistakably Seed—consistent, clear, and on-voice—even when it’s built to convert. Review ad scripts and copy developed by agency and external partners, providing clear, actionable feedback to ensure the work is on-brand, strategically sound, and built for performance.
  • Work Collaboratively: Partner with art directors, designers, motion designers, growth marketers / strategists, and cross-functional partners to ship work quickly and iterate on it faster.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: A writer with five-to-eight years of experience—agency or brand-side—with a portfolio that includes real, running paid social and performance work, not just spec ads or brand campaigns.
  • Skillset: You’re an excellent writer of hooks and headlines who can move fast without settling for the flip phrase or lazy pun.
  • Data Fluency: You’re comfortable reading performance metrics and using them to shape your creative decisions—testing is part of your process, not an afterthought.
  • Culture: You’re curious. You’re dialed into what’s happening in culture and on the platforms where your work lives.
  • Passionate: You give a shit. You care about The Work, whether it’s a $2/day test or a flagship campaign.
  • Production: Experience working on productions big and small—from quick-turn UGC-style content shoots to campaign-level work.
  • Comfortable moving from macro to micro—no project, and no single ad variation, is too small to tackle with positivity.

The annual pay range for this full-time position is $145k-$165k + equity + benefits across all US locations (this position is 100% remote-US). Our pay ranges are guided by discipline, level and experience required. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including: your specific location, desired skills/ technical competency, relevant experience and advanced education/ training.

Benefits + Perks:

Health & Wellness: Choose from multiple medical, dental, and vision plans, with generous employer contributions and coverage options to meet your needs. Enjoy access to top-tier virtual care and a complimentary Aaptiv membership for fitness and mental wellness. We also provide an HSA with employer contributions, along with Fullscript discounts for supplements.

Mental Health Support: All employees and eligible dependents receive 12 free therapy sessions per year, plus coaching, meditation, and 24⁄7 access to Spring Health’s digital tools and care navigation.

Supporting Families: Our Parental Leave Policy includes 18 weeks of fully paid leave, with the flexibility to phase your return. We also offer four weeks of paid transition time at 80% capacity or four days per week.

Time to Recharge: Seed offers 15 vacation days, 7 sick/safe days, 2 personal days, 10 Recharge Days (Summer + Winter), and 15 paid company holidays each year.

Work Flexibly: Thrive in a remote-first culture that prioritizes autonomy and clarity. You’ll also receive a $750 one-time remote work setup stipend and ongoing access to a $450 quarterly wellness and workplace stipends via JOON.

And More: Access pet insurance, life and disability coverage, learning & development, and a vibrant culture rooted in science and impact.

Content Technical Staff Writer (Blogs & Newsletters) at PostHog

Creates technical blog posts and newsletters that educate PostHog users and prospects about product analytics and AI-powered development tools.

Senior Remote Posted 6 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About PostHog

Product development used to mean manually writing code, running analysis, diagnosing bugs, and rolling out changes using dozens of tools.

PostHog makes products self-driving. It’s the only platform that acts like a co-pilot for you (and your AI agents) to do it all – autonomously.

We started with open-source product analytics, launched out of Y Combinator’s W20 cohort. We’ve since shipped more than a dozen products, including:

  • PostHog Desktop, the only AI devtool that understands your product, not just your codebase.

  • A built-in data warehouse, so users can query product and customer data together using custom SQL insights.

  • PostHog AI, an AI-powered analyst that answers product questions, helps users find useful session recordings, and writes custom SQL queries.

We are:

  1. Product-led. More than 450,000 organizations have installed PostHog, mostly driven by word-of-mouth. We have intensely strong product-market fit.

  2. Default alive. Revenue is growing incredibly quickly, and we’re very efficient. We raise money to push ambition and grow faster, not to keep the lights on.

  3. Well-funded. We’ve raised more than $180m from some of the world’s top investors. We’re set up for a long, ambitious journey.

We’re focused on building an awesome product for end users, hiring exceptional teammates, shipping fast, and being as weird as possible.

Things we care about

  • Transparency: Everyone can read about our roadmap, how we pay (or even let go of) people, our strategy, and how we work, in our public company handbook. Internally, we share revenue, notes and slides from board meetings, and fundraising plans, so everyone has the context they need to make good decisions.

  • Autonomy: We don’t tell anyone what to do. Everyone chooses what to work on next based on what’s going to have the biggest impact on our customers, and what they find interesting and motivating to work on. Engineers lead product teams and make product decisions. Teams are flexible and easy to change when needed.

  • Shipping fast: Why not now? We want to build a lot of products; we can’t do that shipping at a normal pace. We’ve built the company around small teams – autonomous, highly-efficient groups of cracked engineers who can outship much larger companies because they own their products end-to-end.

  • Time for building: Nothing gets shipped in a meeting. We’re a natively remote company. We default to async communication – PRs > Issues > Slack. Tuesdays and Thursdays are meeting-free days, and we prioritize heads down building time over perfect coordination. This will be the most productive job you’ve ever had.

  • Ambition: We want to solve big problems. We strongly believe that aiming for the best possible upside, and sometimes missing, is better than never trying. We’re optimistic about what’s possible and our ability to get there.

  • Being weird: Weird means redesigning an already world-class website for the 5th time. It means shipping literally every product that relates to customer data. It means building an objectively unnecessary developer toy with dubious shareholder value. Doing weird stuff is a competitive advantage. And it’s fun.

Who we’re looking for and why now?

A great writer who gets technical stuff – and loves figuring out how to explain it to other people.

We have a strong writing culture, and writing as marketing has worked ridiculously well for us. We have a newsletter with over 100k subscribers, active social accounts, and real SEO and AEO authority. Hundreds of thousands of people visit our website every day. If you join, you won’t spend a year building an audience before anyone reads you.

We can and like to be opinionated about what we think best practice is and thousands of developers look to us to provide them opinion.

The problem is we’re at capacity, and there’s a long list of content we’re neglecting because of it. We used to do more tutorials. Use case guides people keep asking us for.

Overall, we have a lot to write about. PostHog has grown from product analytics into a broad platform for engineers, and we’re building everything from AI agents and error tracking to data infrastructure at huge scale. We’re also open by default, so we’re unusually happy to share what we’ve learned along the way.

We want someone who can turn all of that into genuinely useful technical content.

Simply put, you’re a writer. You care about the craft, have opinions about what makes technical content actually great, and have a portfolio that proves it.

What you’ll be doing

Disclaimer: we keep getting applications from excellent technical documentation writers who have no technical blog posts portfolio. This isn’t that job though.

The work here is blog posts.

You’ll research and explain use cases, technical concepts, and how things actually work. One day that might mean digging into how our engineers rebuilt part of our data warehouse. Another could be explaining the difference between logs and traces, writing a tutorial for a PostHog use case, or figuring out the best way to explain what a context warehouse is.

You’ll need to be comfortable getting into technical details, but you don’t need to be an engineer. The important bit is that you’re curious enough to understand technical concepts properly and a good enough writer to explain them simply.

Day to day, it looks like:

  • Writing content that helps people and agents use PostHog better. Blog posts in the form of uUse case guides, tutorials, technical explainers, engineering posts. The stuff we know is valuable and haven’t had the capacity to do as much as we want to.

  • Researching and explaining hard things. Technical details, engineering processes, and concepts that most people gloss over. Going deep enough that a builder actually learns something.

  • Figuring out what to write. Looking at what we are shipping as a company, what our priorities are, and what’s interesting to decide yourself. There isn’t going to be someone telling you what to write all the time.

  • Choosing the right format for the idea. Sometimes that’s an engineering blog. Sometimes it’s an SEO explainer. Sometimes it’s a thread on X.

  • Working with engineers and other marketers. Getting the story of what they built, why it matters, and what’s interesting about it for normal builders. You might edit their blog posts too.

Some examples of the sort of things you might work on:

  • 10,000 PRs a month is easy: How devex is evolving at PostHog

  • What is a context warehouse?

  • Why we rebuilt our data warehouse on DuckDB over ClickHouse

  • What is a Scout? A technical deep dive

  • What is distributed tracing? (A guide for engineers)

  • Validating what you ship: Did anyone use it? Did it work?

  • How to set up embedded analytics

Go and read at least two or three of those before you apply. If that’s not the kind of thing you want to spend your week writing, this isn’t the job, and we’d both rather find that out now.

What you won’t be doing

❌ Writing docs. This is not a traditional Technical Writer, or Documentation Engineer, or UX Writer role. Wizard & Docs team owns that, and they’re excellent at it.

❌ Churning out generic SEO content to hit a publishing quota.

❌ Spending most of your time writing social posts, ads, video scripts, or marketing copy.

❌ Waiting for someone to tell you exactly what to write every week.

❌ Publishing AI slop nobody on the team would actually want to read.

❌ Running the newsletter as your main job. The newsletter goes out to 100k+ people and you’ll write for it, but it’s downstream of the posts. If your dream job is editing a newsletter, this isn’t it.

You’ll fit right in if:

  • You’re a strong writer. This is the most important requirement. You can take something complicated and make it clear, useful, and enjoyable to read. You’re dedicated to the craft of writing. Every post here gets reviewed and we only publish things we’re proud of. You need to share the same sentiment.

  • You’ve written technical content before. Your portfolio includes technical explainers, engineering posts, tutorials, or similar work for a developer audience – similar to the ones we want to write (check the samples above!). Ideally, you’ve written these across styles, concepts, and mediums (SEO blogs, X threads).

  • You’re technically curious and capable. You don’t need to be an engineer, but concepts like logs and traces, data warehouses, APIs, LLMs, and agents shouldn’t scare you. You should be able to learn how something works and explain it accurately.

  • You have good taste. You know the difference between content that genuinely teaches someone something and content that exists because somebody wanted to rank for a keyword.

  • You’re AI-pilled. You use AI in your own work to build cool things, improve your workflows, and help you write great content.

  • You work independently. There’s rarely a queue of perfectly scoped assignments at PostHog. You’ll need to decide what’s worth writing, develop a point of view, and get it shipped.

Nice to haves

  • You’ve done this at a similar company. Developer tools, B2B SaaS, or anywhere with a technical audience. If you’ve written high-quality technical explainers for a company like ours before, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

  • You ship things. Side projects, small tools, anything that means you’ve been on the other side of the docs you’re writing.

  • You already use PostHog. Not necessary, but useful. We use it for everything.

If you have a disability, please let us know if there’s any way we can make the interview process better for you – we’re happy to accommodate!

Content Senior Content & Video Manager at Wild Alaskan Company

Develops and produces long-form video content by researching stories, directing production, and managing the end-to-end creative process for a sustainable seafood brand.

Senior Remote Posted 9 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Us

Wild Alaskan Company’s mission is to accelerate humanity’s transition to sustainable food systems by fostering meaningful, interconnected relationships between human beings, wild seafood and the planet.

We deliver wild-caught, sustainable seafood to households across the United States. Powered by our custom-built eCommerce platform and three generations of history and expertise in the Alaskan fishing industry, we constantly strive to meet our promise of a top-notch product and experience. And we do it all in a fully-remote environment that is fast-paced, challenging, and fun.

GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION

We’re hiring a storyteller to build a long-form video channel that makes people hungry, leaves them longing for Alaska (whether they’ve been there or not), and, every so often, moves them to tears.  This is a development-first role but with good working knowledge in production and management. You’ll spend more time finding stories, researching them, discovering new culinary trends than deep in production logistics. You need to know the whole production process, as you’ll be responsible for it end to end but we are not hiring just a pair of hands. We’re hiring for a point of view. This role reports to our VP of Creative and Brand.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Finding and developing the stories. What it takes to come back for a third season on an Alaska fishing boat. Follow the next generation fisherperson as she takes over her family’s setnet site. Follow a chef host as they put the secrets to perfectly crispy skin to the test. You’ll build and maintain a real pipeline of story leads, pitch them with a clear vision and argument for why each one matters towards channel and  brand growth and easily move on from the ones that don’t earn their place.
  • Pre-interviews and research. Long phone calls before anyone books a flight. Do the research, know a subject’s history, their vocabulary, the thing they’re proud of and the thing they don’t usually talk about. Walking into a shoot with a question no one else would have thought to ask.
  • Setting up production for success. Find the right crew, work with multiple producers, create scope, learn to schedule around tides and fishing openers, directing in the field, guiding the edit, delivering on schedule. You’ll do some of this yourself, work with content operations and hire out the rest. You’ll know when a piece needs a full crew and when it needs one person with a camera and two days of patience—must be flexible towards ideas based on budget.
  • Building the long-form channel and distributing across short form channels. Programming a slate, not posting videos. You will be responsible for series architecture, release cadence, thumbnails and titles that are on brand and perform on YouTube. You will oversee a Social Media Manager and be accountable for the channel’s growth and successful articulation of the brand, and you’ll have real opinions about how to get it there.
  • Managing a content team. An Editorial Content Producer and a Social Media Manager report to you. Your job is to give them clear content direction, unblock them, defend their good work, learn from them as much as help them get better. Guide their productions, distribution strategies and presentations.
  • Drive performance-minded creative that is worth watching. You’ll lead ideation and review for not just long form video but also paid ad video, bringing a sharp point of view on hooks, storytelling, pacing and brand. You’ll know what makes people stop, watch and act on both conversion and engagement content channels. You use performance to make the creative better, not just more optimized.
  • Making the food look like it tastes. About  half of the content we make has a seafood culinary focus. Beyond content around Alaskan lifestyle, you need genuine range to cover: content that shows appetite appeal, working with culinary personalities to keep viewers attention span—the goal here is both useful and inspiring food content.
  • Protecting the brand. We’re a company built on dedication and reverence for wild-caught fish from Alaska; we take inspiration from the place it’s from, the hard working people who provide it and thanks for the plates it ends up on— this doesn’t need embellishing, just real celebration.. You’ll be one of the loudest voices in the room about what’s true to that and what isn’t.

What Success Looks Like

  • A long-form channel with real, compounding audience growth — subscribers who came for one film and stayed for the next.
  • A story pipeline deep enough that we’re choosing between good options, not scrambling.
  • Two direct reports doing the best work of their careers.
  • The team watches a rough cut and gets hungry. Then, about four minutes later, gets a little choked up. We tell stories that make Alaskans proud.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 7+ years in content, documentary, or brand film. Titles vary; the reel is what matters. Ability to deliver.
  • Experience reviewing creative data around organic and paid social channels.
  • A body of work with at least one deeply character-driven piece you developed yourself, from lead to delivery.
  • Demonstrated management experience. Not “led freelancers” — actual direct reports, reviews, growth.
  • Fluency across two worlds: the outdoors and food. You’re as comfortable around commercial fishing boats, rough weather and working waterfronts as you are in kitchens, with chefs and thinking about appetite. Direct experience in either world is a plus. Most candidates are strong in one. We need someone who can speak both languages.
  • Real understanding of long-form platform mechanics like YouTube. You can talk about viewership metrics and launch strategies.
  • Willing and able to travel often. Alaska in bad weather and test kitchens within the same quarter. Expect roughly 30% travel, weighted heavily toward the summer.
  • Full working knowledge of the production stack: research and development process, budgets, crew, camera, audio, post, color, sound, delivery. You don’t have to touch all of it. You have to be un-bluffable about all of it.
  • Who this isn’t for: If your only experience is primarily execution on someone else’s ideas — this is the wrong role, and you’d be unhappy in it. We have great production partners and are looking for more. What we don’t have is someone whose ideas are the reason the work exists.

What to include in your application:

  1. A reel. Required. A cut piece or a link to three finished projects, with a line on each telling us specifically what was yours: the idea, the development, the direction, the edit.
  2. One page on a story you developed from nothing. How you found it, what you learned in pre-interviews that changed your approach, and what you’d do differently.
  3. Three pitches for us. One character-driven, one culinary, one your call. A paragraph each. We’re not looking for polish, we’re looking for what you notice.

The starting salary range for this position is $125,000 - $130,000, commensurate with skills and experience. Wild Alaskan’s benefits package includes health, vision, and dental insurance, 401k, PTO, safe/sick time, vacation, parental leave and more, as well as a delicious box of free fish every month.

Wild Alaskan participates in E-Verify. Please see the Notice of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work posters for more information.

Diversity of backgrounds and perspectives makes us stronger. We’re committed to creating a work environment that fosters growth, celebrates diversity and fundamentally makes all teammates feel welcome, accepted, nurtured and respected. Develops and produces long-form video content by researching stories, managing production end-to-end, and directing creative vision for a sustainable seafood brand's video channel.
