Our employees have the flexibility to choose where they do their best work—whether it’s from home, an office, or your favorite coffee shop—while staying connected and building community through regular in-person events. Learn more about our flexible approach to where we work.

OVERVIEW

The Developer Experience team at Instacart is the force multiplier for our 1000+ engineers. We define and build the platforms, tools, and practices that enable Instacart engineers to ship high-quality software faster — from AI-powered code review to build infrastructure, developer onboarding, and local development environments. Our success is measured in developer velocity: how quickly an engineer can take an idea from concept to production.

As a Staff Software Engineer on Developer Experience, you will lead the technical direction for the developer infrastructure that every Instacart engineer relies on. That spans local and remote development environments, CI pipelines and the feedback loop on every commit, pre-production environments that engineers and AI agents can trust, version-control infrastructure, and the AI-powered developer tooling woven through all of it. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You’ll write code, set architectural direction, and partner across the org to move engineering-wide metrics on developer velocity, CI reliability, and the time it takes to get a change safely into production.

About the Job

  • Lead the technical direction for Instacart’s local and remote development environments, including ephemeral environments, image-based provisioning, health checks, and the developer-facing ergonomics of the inner development loop.
  • Lead the technical direction for our CI pipeline infrastructure and the commit-to-feedback loop, CI reliability, failure diagnostics, flaky-test reduction, and shift-left validation.
  • Own the architecture and evolution of our pre-production environments, including staging stability, service-owner accountability models, and environments that let engineers and AI agents validate changes end-to-end in parallel.
  • Drive the reliability and resilience of our git infrastructure, git operations at monorepo scale, and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Advance AI-powered developer tooling across the workflow, AI-assisted code review, agentic development workflows, and the platforms that let engineers run many AI sessions in parallel with humans on the loop.
  • Design and drive multi-quarter initiatives that measurably improve developer velocity, CI reliability, pre-production health, and the local development loop.
  • Own the developer experience metrics for the systems you lead: define what “good” looks like, instrument it, and use the data to prioritize investment.
  • Partner with infrastructure, platform, and product engineering teams to roll out platform changes with minimal disruption
  • Set the technical bar for the systems you own on reliability, performance, upgrade cadence, and developer ergonomics.
  • Mentor engineers in the team and the broader engineering org; grow the community of developer infrastructure experts at Instacart.
  • Represent the team in cross-org technical discussions on local development experience, CI/CD, pre-production, and AI-augmented development.

About You

  • A hands-on technical leader who is equally comfortable in a CI pipeline definition, a design doc, a vision document, and a cross-org migration plan.
  • Metrics-driven. You use build times, CI failure rates, pre-production pass rates, feedback-loop latency, and developer feedback to guide where to invest.
  • A multiplier. You make the engineers around you more effective through mentorship, clear technical writing, and pragmatic guidance.
  • Comfortable driving cross-team change. You can build consensus for a migration or a platform shift and see it through to adoption.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software development experience.
  • Deep, hands-on experience operating CI/CD systems at scale (e.g., Buildkite, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI), including pipeline design, reliability, and performance tuning for large engineering organizations.
  • Experience building or operating local/remote development environments or developer platforms (e.g., ephemeral environments, dev containers, internal PaaS), with a point of view on the inner development loop.
  • Track record of leading cross-team technical initiatives with measurable impact on developer velocity, CI reliability, pre-production stability, or feedback-loop time.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (ECS/Kubernetes or equivalent).
  • Experience with large monorepos and the git infrastructure challenges that come with them.
  • Strong technical leadership: driving direction, mentoring engineers, and influencing without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience owning or evolving a developer environment platform used by a large engineering org.
  • Experience stabilizing pre-production / staging environments at scale, including establishing service-owner accountability and SLAs.
  • Experience with AI-powered developer tooling — AI code review, agentic coding workflows, or platforms that run async agentic work for engineers.
  • Experience defining and instrumenting developer productivity metrics (CI failure rate, feedback-loop time, pre-production pass rate, local dev loop).
  • Experience at high-growth companies operating developer infrastructure for large engineering organizations.

Engineer Software Engineer 3, AI Framework Integrations at MongoDB

Builds and maintains MongoDB integrations with AI frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex, shipping Python/TypeScript code into open-source ecosystems.

Mid Hybrid Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

AI frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and n8n are quickly becoming the default way developers build with AI — and MongoDB wants to be the data platform that shows up everywhere they build. As part of the AI Builders Experience (ABX) org, we’re standing up a brand new engineering team in Gurugram to make that happen, and we’re looking for Software Engineers to be among its founding members.

The team owns the connective layer between MongoDB and third-party AI frameworks, platforms, and tools — the integrations that let developers use MongoDB effectively with the AI stack they’ve already chosen. That means shipping into some of the fastest-moving open-source ecosystems in tech, working mostly in Python and TypeScript, and partnering with the Database Experience (DBX) org when an integration needs new driver, platform, or product capability underneath it.

This is a strong role for an engineer who wants to grow into the AI space with real ownership. You’ll own well-scoped projects from design through release, work with fast-moving and sometimes unproven technologies, and get a clear view of how the ecosystem is evolving. Priorities shift as frameworks change and customer demand moves, so we’re looking for engineers who are adaptable, ask good questions, and take pride in shipping. Much of your work will happen in public: sending pull requests to upstream repositories, working through external maintainer review cycles, and participating in developer communities as MongoDB.

You’ll work closest with the engineers sitting next to you, pairing on hard problems, reviewing each other’s code, and dividing up a broad portfolio, with senior engineers and your manager close at hand as you take on larger pieces of it.

MongoDB engineering teams pride themselves on building high-quality software and living our cultural values every day. We value intellectual curiosity, intellectual honesty, customer empathy, and building together in an environment that prioritizes collaboration over competition.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurugram for our hybrid working model.

Position expectations

  • Build, test, and ship MongoDB integrations across a broad AI framework ecosystem that includes technologies like LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, n8n, and Mastra
  • Own well-scoped projects end to end on weekly-to-quarterly timelines, taking responsibility for the scope, schedule, and quality of your own work and communicating progress and trade-offs clearly
  • Solve day-to-day technical problems with growing independence, using the team’s established patterns and past practice to guide your decisions, and seeking guidance on non-standard problems
  • Contribute to exploratory work on new frameworks: help evaluate an integration’s feasibility, build a first working version of the piece you own, and share what you learn with the team
  • Contribute high-quality code upstream to repositories MongoDB doesn’t own, following the team’s contribution practices and maintaining a high standard of professionalism and courtesy through external maintainer review cycles
  • Work within and improve the team’s engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing across framework and server versions, version compatibility checks, and release steps. Suggest improvements where you see repeated friction
  • Help keep the integrations you work on healthy: monitor for upstream breaking changes, handle upgrades, triage incoming issues, and follow through after release
  • Coordinate with adjacent teams, including DBX, when your work depends on driver, platform, or product capability, and escalate cross-team dependencies and risks early rather than working around them
  • Collaborate with product management, product design, and other partners to understand what users need from an integration and how your work connects to the team’s objectives
  • Write clear documentation, give useful code reviews, share what you know with teammates, and follow through on your commitments
  • Develop specialized knowledge of the Python or TypeScript AI builder ecosystems — frameworks, agent and retrieval patterns, vector search — and bring interesting developments back to the team

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building backend systems, libraries, or other developer-facing software, with solid proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
  • Experience designing, writing, testing, and debugging software in a shared, long-lived code base, with an eye for the tests and documentation that make it maintainable
  • Track record of delivering scoped projects reliably and on time, with growing independence and good judgment about when to ask for help
  • Demonstrated ability to work on several projects at once and keep quality and commitments intact as priorities shift
  • Clear interest in modern AI builder workflows and the developer tooling landscape: AI frameworks, agentic patterns, RAG and retrieval, embedding, or vector search
  • Solid verbal and written technical communication, including the ability to write things down clearly for teammates and partners you won’t always overlap with in real time
  • Enjoys collaboration and being part of a close-knit team; is approachable, curious, and intellectually honest
  • Eager to learn, with a strong technical foundation and an interest in deepening it

Nice to Have

  • Open source contributions, especially any work that landed in a repository you don’t own
  • Experience building AI or framework integrations, MCP servers, agent skills, or plugins for agentic applications, professionally or as side projects
  • Familiarity with the agentic AI tooling ecosystem (AI IDEs, CLIs, and assistants) and how developers integrate with it
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated testing for libraries that support multiple versions or platforms
  • Experience working with databases; familiarity with MongoDB query patterns
  • Exposure to vector search, embedding pipelines, or index management
  • Working knowledge of Java, Go, C#, or Rust
  • Experience with containerization tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) and with AI frameworks and libraries
  • Familiarity with Jira and related tools

Success measures

  • In the first month, you will understand the team’s scope, how our integrations are structured, where the relevant repositories and pipelines live, and how we build, test, and release. You’ll have landed your first code contribution and know who to ask when you’re blocked
  • In three months, you will be delivering scoped work on one or more integrations with growing independence, will have landed an upstream contribution, and will be comfortable running the team’s testing and release process for your own changes
  • In six months, you will own a well-defined area or project end to end, deliver against quarterly objectives with limited oversight, and have made at least one concrete improvement to the quality or efficiency of how the team works
  • In twelve months, you will be a dependable owner of a piece of the portfolio, will have delivered multiple meaningful features or integrations, will be handling upstream and customer issues in your area with confidence, and will be helping teammates get up to speed on what you know best

Our goal is to deliver and maintain the performant, resilient, accurate, best-in-class software platform to drive sportsbook wagering, sportsbook grading, casino wagering, financial recordkeeping, data residency, and regulatory enforcement that is at the core of everything we do as a company. As a result, our stakeholders span the entire range of the business, and we must support them with whatever they are required to deliver without sacrificing the quality and performance we strive to maintain. This will include building a lot of cross-service integrations, with internal and external stakeholders. We are also hyper-vigilant about software performance, resilience, reliability, and accuracy, constantly tracking risks and regressions on all fronts, and proposing improvements where opportunities exist. The systems we own are among the most business-critical at PENN: every wager, payout, and ledger entry runs through them, and getting them right is a regulatory obligation, not just an engineering goal.

About the Work

  • Design, scale, and performance-tune GraphQL APIs, low-latency gRPC services, and SQL queries powering the sportsbook wagering and grading engine, the casino transaction engine, the financial ledger, responsible gaming enforcement, tax enforcement, general regulatory enforcement, promotional records, and risk management, among other things.

  • Identify bottlenecks and areas of risk in production, and drive the changes that make the platform more scalable
  • Set up and refine monitoring and alerting in Datadog for the systems you own
  • Mentor engineers on the team and across teams that ship into our codebase, through specs, pairing, and code review
  • Interact with multiple stakeholders across a wide variety of business domains to deliver best in class products, operational improvements, and cost efficiency optimizations.
  • Be comfortable with bridging the gap between internal, third party, legacy, and modern systems; and excel at doing what this entails, including, data migrations, intermediate data translation, the building and stewardship of additional supporting infrastructure as required, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

About You

  • You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in Software engineering
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, and software design
  • Strong grasp of production systems at scale, and experience identifying areas of improvement in a production environment through load testing and tracing
  • Experience investigating and remediating production performance regressions, including CPU, I/O, and memory hotspots as well as latency regressions in high-throughput services
  • Experience with on-call rotations for a production service, including owning release cycles end-to-end
  • Passionate about clean code architecture and software craftsmanship
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of authoring tech specs, runbooks, and cross-team design docs that stand up to scrutiny
  • Experience with modern web frameworks and API development (Phoenix, Ruby on Rails, Fast API, Laravel, Node)
  • 2+ Years of experience designing and evolving GraphQL schemas for product surfaces used by multiple clients (iOS, Android, Web)
  • Experience building and integrating multi-client / white-label platforms, including geo-based routing and per-client configuration
  • A strong grasp of relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL. Additionally, a strong understanding of relational database theory, including, but not limited to, normalization and denormalization, particularly from a flexibility vs performance mindset, is a major asset.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and comfort operating services in a containerized environment
  • Comfortable working in the terminal, with Git and GitHub or similar, and in an editor of your choice
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as ExUnit, RSpec, Jest, pytest, or equivalent

Engineer Head of Engineering, Rewards at Moniepoint Group

Leads a team of engineers to build and scale Moniepoint's rewards platform, managing platform architecture, team expansion, and feature development across consumer and business segments.

Lead Hybrid Posted 4 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who we are

Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, helping 20 million businesses and individuals access seamless payments, banking, credit, cross-border, and business management tools each month.

As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in digital payment transaction value annually.

Why Spain

Some of our most mission-critical team members are based in Spain, having joined us from companies like Wise and Glovo. Moniepoint is one of the largest and fastest-growing digital banks in Africa, and this is an opportunity to work on genuinely impactful problems: disrupting financial services at scale in emerging markets, and building systems and products that process hundreds of billions of dollars in transaction volume annually for tens of millions of people.

So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Rewards to join us in Spain.

About The Role

Rewards is one of the most strategically important platforms at Moniepoint, and it is being built into a dedicated charter with its own engineering and product leadership. The platform sits at the centre of our retention strategy across a user base of approximately 23 million people.

Today the platform does one thing: cashback. It works, but it has barely scratched the surface of what rewards can be, and the cashback product itself is not yet built to the depth it deserves. The ambition is to evolve it into a full rewards, retention, engagement and personalisation platform — and to do that across the full 360 degrees of our network. That means rewards for our business customers, rewards for our consumer customers, and rewards for the sales agents who drive our distribution. Very few companies get to design this from close to a blank page at this scale.

The Head of Engineering owns that platform end to end. You will inherit a team of nine engineers, including an Engineering Manager, and build the organisation out from there — the current expectation is a minimum of three product units and upwards of 25 people, though the eventual shape is genuinely yours to define. Your first objective is to get the best possible performance out of the cashback product we already have. From there, you will work with Growth, Sales and Marketing to determine what we build for acquisition and retention, and roll it out across every customer we serve.

This is a consumer-facing product engineering role, and that is the most important thing to understand about it. Rewards is won or lost on experimentation, personalisation, and the quality of the experience in a customer’s hands. We are looking for a leader who has built and shipped direct-to-consumer products at scale, who is fluent in experimentation and A/B testing, and who has real depth in front-end and mobile engineering — not a purely backend platform leader.

Moniepoint runs a Domain CTO model. We view our Heads of Engineering as the CTO of their domain: you own the technical roadmap, the architecture, the delivery, and the organisation beneath you. You will have full autonomy over engineering strategy, architecture, hiring, operating cadence and roadmap trade-offs.

You will report functionally to our Group CTO, with a dual reporting line into the Product leader for Rewards. That second line is a delivery relationship rather than a seniority one — engineering and product are peers here, and you will build the team to full capacity together. Your responsibilities as Head of Engineering, Rewards includes:

  • Owning the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Rewards Platform end to end.
  • Improving the performance, reliability and depth of the existing cashback product as an immediate first priority.
  • Evolving cashback into a broader rewards, retention, engagement and personalisation platform serving business customers, consumer customers and sales agents.
  • Building the engineering organisation from its current base - structuring product units, hiring engineers and Engineering Managers, and leading through those managers as the team scales.
  • Establishing a strong experimentation culture: A/B testing, cohort analysis, and measurement that lets the team learn quickly what actually changes customer behaviour.
  • Working closely with Growth, Sales and Marketing to translate acquisition and retention objectives into product and engineering initiatives.
  • Owning the customer-facing experience of rewards across mobile and web, including how quickly and reliably customers receive what they have earned.
  • Define architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics, and own the engineering health of the domain — incidents, production defects, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and developer experience.
  • Build the platform to serve customers across multiple geographies as Moniepoint expands.
  • Partner with Product to define the rewards-specific metrics and OKRs that do not yet exist, and hold the team to them.

Who You Are

  • Direct-to-consumer product engineering at scale. You have built and shipped products used directly by large consumer audiences, and you understand what moves engagement and retention. This is the defining requirement of the role.
  • Genuine front-end and mobile depth. You have led or personally built consumer-facing mobile and web experiences. A backend-only background, however strong, is not what this role needs.
  • Experimentation and growth engineering. Hands-on experience running A/B tests, feature flagging, and measurement frameworks, and using the results to drive product decisions rather than to justify them.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing managers — leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders, not a single team.
  • Hands-on technical leadership. You are still close to the code. We expect a meaningful proportion of hands-on engineering time and technical credibility with the engineers you lead.
  • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
  • Comfort with our backend environment — Java and Spring Boot — and the ability to lead backend engineers credibly, even if it is not where your own depth sits.
  • Experience building and scaling an engineering organisation from a small base, including hiring and developing Engineering Managers.
  • Strong collaboration with commercial stakeholders — growth, marketing and sales — and the ability to translate business objectives into engineering work.
  • Rewards, loyalty, gamification, personalisation or growth platform experience is a strong advantage but is not required.
  • Fintech or payments experience is an advantage, not a requirement.

Cultural Alignment

As well, we assess every candidate across eight dimensions that define how great leaders operate at Moniepoint. We look for evidence of all eight throughout the process, not just in a single conversation.

  • Customer Obsession: Build deep empathy for users. Solve problems intuitively, and fix root causes, not just tickets.
  • Craft: Master the fundamentals. Reason from first principles, make trade-offs explicit, and raise the bar on quality.
  • Systemisation: Turn repeating decisions into scalable mechanisms. Reduce cognitive load and raise engineering quality.
  • Urgency: Move with disciplined speed. Act autonomously within scope, remove friction, and escalate risks early.
  • Ownership: Treat the platform as your own. Take initiative across boundaries and follow through without reminders.
  • No Ego: Put the mission first. Share credit, welcome debate, and never protect status over team outcomes.
  • Candour: Surface uncomfortable truths and risks early. Intelligent failure is welcome; concealment is not.
  • Integrity: Stay truthful and ethically consistent. Refuse toxic behavior. Performance without integrity is unacceptable.

What Success Looks Like In The Role

  • The existing cashback product performing measurably better — faster, more reliable, and more compelling to customers.
  • A credible rewards platform roadmap defined with Product, and the first initiatives beyond cashback shipped.
  • A functioning experimentation practice, where the team ships, measures and learns on a short cycle.
  • An engineering organisation built out from its current base, with a strong bench of Engineering Managers and senior engineers.
  • Rewards established as a measurable contributor to retention and engagement across the customer base.
  • Clear architecture standards and engineering processes in place across the product units.

Why Join Us

  • A rare blank page. The platform exists, but almost everything it could become is still ahead of it, and you will define what that is.
  • Direct influence on retention across a base of roughly 23 million users, at one of the largest and fastest-growing digital banks in Africa.
  • Full autonomy as the CTO of your domain, with the backing to build the organisation you think the problem needs.
  • Be part of a mission-driven company expanding access to financial services for millions of businesses and individuals.

What To Expect In The Hiring Process

  • 60 minute High level System Design round with one of our Engineering Managers.
  • 60 minute Panel Interview with 2 of our Head of Engineering leaders. 30 minutes focused on a technical deep dive into your CV and into a project or system you built in the past. 30 minutes focused on testing for leadership attributes.
  • 60 minute Stakeholder Management Round with one of our Product Heads/VPs, focused on your stakeholder management and collaboration skills with product and business.
  • 60 minute Technical round and Culture fit interview with our Co-founder & Group CTO (the hiring manager).

Moniepoint is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates.

Engineer Head of Engineering, Field Verification at Moniepoint Group

Leads engineering team building and scaling Moniepoint's field verification platform that coordinates physical KYC checks across Nigeria.

Lead Hybrid Posted 5 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who we are

Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, helping 20 million businesses and individuals access seamless payments, banking, credit, cross-border, and business management tools each month.

As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in digital payment transaction value annually.

Why the UK

The UK is home to our headquarters where more than 70 team members are based, with team members joining us from companies like Tide, Klarna, Revolut, Capital One, Teya, Wise, Starling, Monzo, and many others! Our London office is located at Sea Containers, just by London Bridge - this is also where a significant number of our most senior leaders sit, which makes it a natural base for a Head of Engineering.

So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Field Verification to join us in UK.

About The Role

Field Verification is how Moniepoint knows that the people and businesses on our platform are real. Every Moniepoint customer, retail and business, requires a completed field verification as part of KYC. The platform coordinates physical, in-person checks — verifying individuals, business owners, business addresses and loan guarantors — and it serves nearly every part of the company: onboarding, loans, compliance and the fraud team.

The system works today. A back office gives each business unit visibility and control over its own verification requests. A mobile-friendly web app puts the work in the hands of Field Verification Officers and the cluster leads who manage them across local government areas. An API layer lets other business units push verification requests in and receive results back by webhook, and an assignment algorithm routes each request to an officer close enough to carry it out.

We want to be straightforward about the rest. This domain has never had a dedicated engineering leader, and that is the single biggest constraint on it. The team is one lean, cross-functional squad — an Engineering Manager, four engineers and a QA — carrying verification volume for the entire customer base. They have done that impressively well, but running lean means running in keep-the-lights-on mode, and a long list of things that would make this platform substantially better has been waiting for someone to own it.

That list is the role. Trip and route management, so an officer can plan an optimal day across several sites rather than making a separate journey for each one — today we pay for a round trip per verification, and the logistics are nowhere near optimal. Capacity management. A native mobile app, wanted for a long time and never resourced. Liveness and identity verification tooling, exposed as APIs the rest of the business can build on. And as Moniepoint expands into markets where identity verification is as difficult as it is in Nigeria, Kenya among them, a platform that works beyond a single country.

There is a great deal of room to build here. Whoever takes this on will set the direction rather than inherit someone else’s plan, on a system that already carries real weight for the business.

As Head of Engineering, Field Verification, your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Field Verification platform end to end, and setting direction for a domain that has been running without dedicated engineering leadership.
  • Moving the platform from keep-the-lights-on operation to deliberate, prioritised development.
  • Leading and growing the existing cross-functional team, and building the organisation out as scope expands.
  • Building the operational efficiency layer — trip and route optimisation, task allocation and capacity management for field officers.
  • Owning the platform’s client-facing surface: the APIs and webhooks that other business units integrate with, and the back office those units rely on.
  • Delivering a native mobile experience for field officers.
  • Ensuring verification data is structured, auditable and fit for compliance scrutiny.
  • Building for multi-country expansion as Moniepoint enters new markets.
  • Partnering closely with Product and with the business units that depend on the platform — onboarding, loans, compliance and fraud.
  • Defining architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics, and hiring and developing engineers and Engineering Managers.

Who You Are

  • You have built things yourself, and grew into leadership from there. We are explicit about this: we are not looking for someone who moved into management early and has led from a distance since. We want an engineer who became a leader.
  • You are capable across disciplines. Backend, web and mobile. This platform spans all three and you will need credibility in each — a specialist in one layer will struggle here.
  • You have built platforms, not just products. Systems used by several distinct groups of users and internal business units, with the flexibility to serve requirements you did not anticipate.
  • You are a problem solver first. We would rather have someone adaptable than someone with the exact domain experience. Having built across different industries — fintech, e-commerce, logistics or otherwise — is a positive signal, not a scattered CV.
  • You have 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on production engineering and strong backend depth. Our backend environment is Java and Spring Boot.
  • You have at least 5 years of engineering leadership, including managing Engineering Managers.
  • You collaborate well with product and business stakeholders, and can translate operational requirements into engineering solutions.
  • Experience working with location and geospatial data is a strong plus, including map integrations.
  • Experience with route, trip or delivery optimisation is a strong plus.
  • Experience building for compliance — where data must be structured to evidence what was done and when — is a strong plus.
  • Experience with identity, KYC or verification platforms is a plus. None of these four are requirements.

Why Poland

Poland is a new and deliberate addition to our engineering map. We recently made our first technology hire in the country, and we are looking at Poland as a long-term strategic location for senior hires, particularly within our engineering organisation. Joining now means joining early, and helping shape what our presence here becomes.

So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Sales & Marketing Tools, to join us in Poland.

About The Role

Sales and Marketing Tools owns MonieCRM, the operating system for Moniepoint’s 50,000-strong sales network. This is not a CRM we bought — it is a workforce operations platform built entirely in-house for a multi-level field sales hierarchy, and it is how those teams run their day to day: the portfolio of businesses they manage, their own teams, their goals and performance, the physical and digital resources they need in the field, and an emerging AI-assisted support layer. Sixteen capabilities span onboarding and network management, pipeline and portfolio, performance and goals, compensation, and sales experience and support.

A significant part of the domain moves money. The platform owns wallets, commission calculation and attribution, cashout and welfare funds for a network that drives the overwhelming majority of company revenue — which makes financial correctness, not just availability, a core engineering requirement of the role.

Alongside that, the domain covers partner management, a rewards and retention platform serving tens of millions of users, and our marketing technology stack, including the engineering and customisation of Braze, the platform we use for customer engagement. The mandate is modernisation and reliability: re-architecting systems that have grown very quickly and making them dependable at a scale of more than 20 million users. This is a platform engineering and legacy modernisation challenge first and foremost, and prior CRM or SalesTech experience is genuinely not required.

Who You Are

  • You have 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
  • 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code as a practising engineer. This means years spent writing Java yourself, not years spent overseeing teams who write it.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing managers — leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders, rather than running a single team.
  • You have proven platform engineering experience at scale — building and running complex distributed systems, not feature delivery alone.
  • You have navigated legacy migrations and re-architecture projects at 20M+ user scale.
  • You have strong backend engineering skills in high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems, and are proficient in Java and Spring Boot.
  • You have managed and developed large engineering teams of 20 or more members.
  • Experience building systems where financial correctness matters — commissions, payouts, wallets, ledgers or equivalent — is a strong advantage.
  • A fintech or payments background is strongly preferred. CRM or SalesTech domain experience is nice to have and explicitly not required.
  • Exposure to customer engagement or marketing automation platforms such as Braze is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Candour: Surface uncomfortable truths and risks early. Intelligent failure is welcome; concealment is not.
  • Integrity: Stay truthful and ethically consistent. Refuse toxic behavior. Performance without integrity is unacceptable.

What Success Looks Like

  • The domain has clear technical ownership and direction for the first time.
  • The team out of keep-the-lights-on mode and delivering against a prioritised roadmap.
  • Measurable improvement in field officer efficiency — more verifications per trip, lower cost per verification.
  • A native mobile experience shipped for field officers.
  • Verification data that stands up to compliance scrutiny across every business unit the platform serves.
  • The platform ready to support a new market.
  • A team grown beyond its current size, with a strong bench of engineers and managers.

Why Join Us

  • A genuinely greenfield mandate on a system that already matters. Every customer Moniepoint onboards passes through this platform.
  • A lean, capable team making outsized impact, and the remit to build the organisation around them.
  • Breadth: backend, web, mobile, location data, compliance and operational optimisation in one domain.
  • Be part of a mission-driven company expanding access to financial services for millions of businesses and individuals.

What To Expect in The Hiring Process

  • A preliminary phone call with the recruiter.

  • Exposure to customer engagement or marketing automation platforms such as Braze is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Legacy systems modernised and re-architected, with measurable improvement in reliability and performance.
  • Commissions and earnings calculated, attributed and paid accurately and on time, at network scale.
  • A sales and marketing platform that scales with a rapidly growing agent network across multiple markets.
  • Commercial teams able to move faster because the tooling beneath them is dependable.
  • A high-performing engineering team with a strong bench of managers and senior engineers.

Engineer Software Engineer II, - Ads at Instacart

Build and ship features across Instacart's publisher-facing ads platform, writing production code and owning services end-to-end.

Mid Hybrid Posted 5 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

We’re transforming the grocery industry

At Instacart, we invite the world to share love through food because we believe everyone should have access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. Where others see a simple need for grocery delivery, we see exciting complexity and endless opportunity to serve the varied needs of our community. We work to deliver an essential service that customers rely on to get their groceries and household goods, while also offering safe and flexible earnings opportunities to Instacart Personal Shoppers.

Instacart has become a lifeline for millions of people, and we’re building the team to help push our shopping cart forward. If you’re ready to do the best work of your life, come join our table.

Instacart is a Flex First team

There’s no one-size fits all approach to how we do our best work. Our employees have the flexibility to choose where they do their best work—whether it’s from home, an office, or your favorite coffee shop—while staying connected and building community through regular in-person events. Learn more about our flexible approach to where we work.

Overview

Carrot Ads is Instacart’s publisher advertising platform and one of its fastest-growing businesses. We power ads for enterprise retail partners like Uber Eats, Hy-Vee, and Thrive Market on their own storefronts, spanning Storefront, Storefront Pro, and the Connect / Carrot Ads API. As the first vertical team inside a historically horizontal Ads org, our scope is unusually broad: we own the publisher customer end to end while building on top of shared serving, measurement, and quality systems.

Retail media is consolidating, and Instacart is positioned to win on cross-retailer reach. Our goal is to become the premier grocery ads ecosystem for partners and advertisers — and getting there means turning an early externalization into an enterprise-grade platform that the world’s most sophisticated retailers trust with their own storefronts. That is the problem you will help solve.

As a Software Engineer II on Carrot Ads, you will independently build and ship features across the publisher-facing stack: the Connect / Carrot Ads API, publisher serving inputs, reporting, and the tooling partners use to run their ad businesses. You will write efficient, observable, well-tested code, own what you ship through production and on-call, and work as an away team into shared systems when a feature needs changes there. This is a high-visibility role inside one of Instacart’s top growth areas, with real opportunity to own meaningful surfaces early in your career here.

About the Job

  • Build and ship publisher-facing features end to end across Storefront, Storefront Pro, and API partners — including API endpoints, serving inputs, reporting views, and configuration tooling that partners depend on daily.
  • Extend the Connect / Carrot Ads API with clear contracts, robust event handling and dead-letter recovery, integration tests, and self-serve documentation that makes partner onboarding faster and more reliable.
  • Build the retailer control surface: relevance and quality-score inputs, reserve pricing, ad-load controls, and the trade-off signals retailers use to tune performance on their own sites.
  • Strengthen reporting and data integrity across partner systems — including attribution, catalog and product-ID mapping, reconciliation, and automated health checks that keep partner data trustworthy.
  • Raise reliability by helping define and meet partner SLAs, improving observability, reducing incident frequency and time to recovery, and contributing to a unified partner-health monitoring layer.
  • Debug partner-facing serving and reporting issues, tracing root causes across shared serving, measurement, and quality systems.
  • Collaborate across Product, Enterprise Solutions, and the horizontal Ads teams — including Serving, Measurement, Ads Quality, and Ads Manager — to land work that spans multiple stacks.
  • Use AI-assisted developer tools to move faster without lowering the bar on quality or security.

About You

You work well in ambiguity, like owning features end to end, and want the surface area of a fast-growing business alongside the depth of hard systems problems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building and operating production backend services.
  • Strong API design and distributed-systems fundamentals, with fluency in a backend language such as Go, Ruby, or Python.
  • Demonstrated track record of shipping features end to end with solid testing, observability, and operational ownership.
  • Experience debugging across service boundaries and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ad tech, retail media, or other publisher- or partner-facing platforms.
  • Familiarity with event streaming and reliability patterns at scale (e.g., Kafka, dead-letter queues, idempotent processing).
  • Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP, including data or measurement-adjacent systems.
  • Experience with data reconciliation, attribution, or catalog and entity mapping.
  • Experience building partner- or customer-facing APIs, including documentation, error contracts, and integration test coverage.

Engineer Senior Distributed Systems Engineer - Cache at Cloudflare

Designs and optimizes high-performance distributed caching systems and reverse proxy infrastructure serving millions of Internet properties at edge scale.

Senior Hybrid Posted 5 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a “normalized” problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

Available Locations: Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX, Champaign, IL, Denver, CO, New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA, Washington, DC

About the Department

Cloudflare’s Engineering Team builds and runs the software that helps power millions of Internet properties. Product development covers both new features and functionality as well as scaling our existing software to meet the challenges of a massively growing customer base.

The Content Delivery group helps make the Internet faster, safer, and more reliable by building and optimizing one of the world’s largest CDNs.

Role Summary

The Cache team builds and operates the high-performance reverse proxy and caching data plane at Cloudflare’s edge. Built on Pingora, Cloudflare’s open-source Rust framework for fast, reliable network services, this software serves cached content, routes traffic across cache tiers, and connects Cloudflare to customer origins. Its performance, correctness, and resilience directly affect request latency, origin load, and availability across Cloudflare’s global network.

You will work primarily on the reverse proxy and the services that support it: backend routing and load balancing, cache storage and indexing, globally distributed purge, Tiered Cache routing, and production observability. These systems are also foundational building blocks for teams across Cloudflare, which use the proxy, caching, routing, and purge capabilities to power their own products. The team carries these capabilities through shared internal interfaces, distributed control planes, and customer-facing products including Cache Rules, Tiered Cache, Cache Reserve, Workers Cache API, and Always Online. Features ship end to end: you will help design, implement, test, roll out, and operate the systems you build.

This is a good fit if you enjoy problems where latency, correctness, and reliability are hard requirements; where changes must be introduced safely across a global fleet; and where improvements can benefit a significant portion of Internet traffic.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate the high-performance cache and proxy data plane that serves content at Cloudflare’s edge and connects to customer origins
  • Contribute to Pingora and the production services built on it, improving asynchronous I/O, connection handling, memory and disk efficiency, and tail latency
  • Improve cache correctness and performance through object placement, retention, admission and eviction policies, range-request handling, and resilience to corrupt or incomplete data
  • Build globally distributed purge and Tiered Cache systems that invalidate content quickly, select efficient cache paths, improve hit rates, and reduce origin load
  • Deliver shared platform capabilities and customer-facing APIs and rules for cache keys, TTLs, response handling, purge behavior, and programmatic access from Workers
  • Own features end to end: write technical designs, implement services and libraries, add automated tests and observability, drive staged rollouts, and operate the resulting systems in production
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation, lead incident response and post-mortems, and continually improve reliability, capacity, and operational tooling
  • Reason carefully about failure modes and blast radius, using traffic cohorts, measurable guardrails, and rollback mechanisms to introduce high-impact changes safely
  • Partner with product and engineering teams across Cloudflare that depend on or extend the cache and proxy platform
  • Raise the engineering bar through code review, mentorship, clear written communication, and improvements to team standards and tooling

Role Requirements (Must-Have Skills)

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience designing, building, and operating production software systems
  • Strong proficiency in at least one systems or backend language such as Rust, Go, C, or C++, with a willingness to work in Rust
  • Strong understanding of HTTP semantics and transport protocols such as TCP, TLS, and QUIC
  • Experience designing and implementing secure, resilient, high-performance distributed systems
  • Experience with Linux systems, networking, concurrency, and performance analysis
  • Track record of production ownership, including monitoring, debugging, on-call, incident response, and ongoing reliability improvements
  • Experience using metrics, logs, traces, profiling, and experiments to understand production behavior and validate improvements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear technical designs and lead projects across team boundaries
  • Willingness to use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development and investigation while remaining accountable for correctness, security, and design quality

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Professional experience with Rust or high-performance asynchronous systems
  • Experience with caches, HTTP proxies, CDNs, distributed storage, or latency-sensitive data-plane services
  • Experience analyzing memory use, disk I/O, resource contention, and tail latency in production systems
  • Experience building APIs or distributed control planes using event streaming, relational databases, or analytical data systems
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or similar infrastructure
  • Experience contributing to open-source software or leading multi-team engineering programs

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location and level.

San Francisco Estimated Base salary $194,000 - $266,000.

Seattle, Washington D.C., New York Estimated Base salary $185,000 - $254,000.

Denver, Austin, Illinois, Atlanta Estimated Base salary $168,000 - $231,000.

Engineer Head of Engineering, Field Verification at Moniepoint Group

Leads engineering strategy and execution for Field Verification platform, managing a lean squad to build and scale KYC verification systems processing millions of transactions.

We celebrate diversity and are committed to building an inclusive organisation.
