Engineer Backend Engineer at Techstars

Designs and maintains data pipelines, Kubernetes infrastructure, and PostgreSQL systems while partnering across teams to ship reliable, observable backend services.

Mid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer at Techstars, you will be the connective tissue between our data infrastructure and the product teams building Techstars OS — the operating system that drives how we run accelerators, support founders, and make investment decisions. You will own our data pipelines, keep our cloud infrastructure stable and secure, and work across teams to ship reliable, observable systems. This role blends backend data engineering with platform/infrastructure work; the right person is equally comfortable building an ELT pipeline as they are debugging a Kubernetes deployment

What you will do

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and serve data across Techstars systems — including Salesforce, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and internal APIs
  • Own and evolve our Kubernetes-based infrastructure (Helm, OpenTofu, Github Actions), including deployment tooling, secrets management, and cluster health
  • Partner with our senior security engineer on infrastructure reliability — incident response, observability, and proactive improvements to keep things stable
  • Maintain and improve our PostgreSQL database layer: schema design, migrations, query performance, and data integrity
  • Support Salesforce data flows and integrations with our broader platform
  • Build and maintain internal tooling and integrations that connect third-party SaaS tools to Techstars OS
  • Contribute to engineering standards: CI/CD practices, testing, code review, documentation
  • Work in an agile team environment with a product backlog, sprints, and regular delivery to production

What you bring

  • Solid experience building and maintaining data pipelines — ETL/ELT, data ingestion, transformation, and delivery to downstream consumers
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, query optimization, data modeling
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production (AWS EKS a plus), including familiarity with Helm, kubectl, and debugging workloads
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling (OpenTofu, Terraform)
  • Strong Python skills for data engineering, scripting, and automation
  • Strong understanding of agentic development in a team environment
  • Familiarity with AWS services (S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and related tooling)
  • A DevOps mindset: you care about observability (Prometheus/Grafana experience a plus), reliability, and what happens after code ships
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills — you can work from symptoms to root cause on unfamiliar systems
  • Experience working in agile development environments with a product team
  • Strong communication skills — you work well across teams and can explain technical tradeoffs clearly

Nice to have

  • Experience with Salesforce data structures and CRM-adjacent integrations
  • Knowledge of financial or investment data (venture capital, startup portfolio management)
  • Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow or similar)
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for backend services
  • Prior work at a startup, accelerator, or investment firm

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: 115,000 - 130,000

Benefits: Techstars offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off.

Engineer Automation Test Engineer at Skyward

Designs and maintains automated test frameworks for web apps, APIs, and AI-driven features, including model validation and bias detection pipelines.

Mid Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

We are Skyward.

That is, a love for people, for improvement, for human advancement through information technology. We are a people-centered business with a desire to serve others. We are diverse and unified; creative and collaborative; a collection of complementary, not competing talents. And though on the surface we remain relaxed, beneath, a torrent of energy links us to our civic tech mission.

We stand by our values, and we won’t compromise on any of them.

Integrity: We’re conscientious, intentional, and empathetic. Our words and actions align. That’s our character. Please don’t ask us to play another part, we’re poor actors.

Compassionate: If we may borrow a quote from Theodore Roosevelt: “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” Because our team is thoughtful and supportive, caring deeply for each other, our clients, and our work, this comes naturally.

Inquisitive: We remain students by failing openly and turning lessons into solutions.

Unconventional: For us, life isn’t what happens outside of work. Work happens inside of life and our culture erases the line often dividing the two.

Authentic: Made possible only because we embody the values listed above. We’re relaxed and fun yet intensely curious and driven. Team members are placed with thought, care, and precision to ensure that Trust, Truth, and Transparency continue to represent our brand.

Because of that, we continue Onward, Upward, and Skyward.

We need an Automation Test Engineer. Are you the kind of person who can’t look at a machine learning model without wanting to test it six different ways (and then automate all six)? Do your friends sigh when you bring up responsible AI? Maybe they’ve stopped asking what you do for work because the last time you went on a 20-minute tangent about bias in training data and flaky CI pipelines for neural nets.

If that sounds familiar, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

Come join us if you’re motivated to learn from others, to learn from mistakes, to be part of a future-looking and growth-oriented team.

Let’s go Skyward together.

What you’ll do:

  • Be part of a team supporting the development of an AI/ML platform that will leverage generative AI to relieve user burden across the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Design and maintain robust, scalable automated test frameworks for web apps, APIs, and AI-driven features.
  • Develop automated pipelines for model validation, bias detection, and drift monitoring in ML-based systems.
  • Define and execute test plans that include functional, regression, performance, and AI-specific testing strategies.
  • Partner with AI/ML engineers to create test datasets and simulate real-world user behavior and edge cases.
  • Implement CI/CD-integrated quality gates to ensure AI releases meet defined reliability and fairness metrics.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help establish best practices in intelligent automation and AI testing.
  • Advocate for ethical AI standards and contribute to cross-functional discussions about responsible AI.

What we’d like you to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in software QA/automation engineering, with at least 1 year focused on AI/ML product testing.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and scripting language (Python preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with testing AI models, including validation metrics, dataset versioning, and model explainability.
  • Familiarity with tools like MLflow, TensorBoard, or similar for AI observability.
  • Understanding of model bias, fairness audits, and compliance considerations in government or regulated environments.
  • Experience working in Agile DevSecOps environments with modern CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc.).
  • Strong collaboration skills with a knack for clear communication across engineering, data science, and product teams.

What would blow us away:

  • You’ve previously supported the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply. At Skyward, we’re focused on hiring individuals with the right skills and passion to grow, not just checking off every box.

And now the important part. What we offer you:

  • Medical, dental, vision insurance
  • 15 days of paid leave
  • 7 days of sick leave
  • 2 days bereavement leave
  • 11 paid Federal holidays
  • Up to 40 hours for jury duty
  • 401K with 4% employer contribution (and no vesting period)
  • Up to 4 weeks of paid paternity and maternity leave
  • Company provided laptop
  • $5,000 per year for professional development
  • $600 per year for technical supplies and equipment
  • $2,000 referral bonus
  • Life and disability insurance
  • HSA and FSA
  • Legal Shield and ID Shield Voluntary Benefits
  • Opportunity to work in a collaborative, motivated team focused on modernizing government services with cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions. Who says government work can’t be exciting!

Engineer Software Engineer 3, AI Framework Integrations at MongoDB

Builds and maintains MongoDB integrations with AI frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex, shipping Python/TypeScript code into open-source ecosystems.

Mid Hybrid Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

AI frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and n8n are quickly becoming the default way developers build with AI — and MongoDB wants to be the data platform that shows up everywhere they build. As part of the AI Builders Experience (ABX) org, we’re standing up a brand new engineering team in Gurugram to make that happen, and we’re looking for Software Engineers to be among its founding members.

The team owns the connective layer between MongoDB and third-party AI frameworks, platforms, and tools — the integrations that let developers use MongoDB effectively with the AI stack they’ve already chosen. That means shipping into some of the fastest-moving open-source ecosystems in tech, working mostly in Python and TypeScript, and partnering with the Database Experience (DBX) org when an integration needs new driver, platform, or product capability underneath it.

This is a strong role for an engineer who wants to grow into the AI space with real ownership. You’ll own well-scoped projects from design through release, work with fast-moving and sometimes unproven technologies, and get a clear view of how the ecosystem is evolving. Priorities shift as frameworks change and customer demand moves, so we’re looking for engineers who are adaptable, ask good questions, and take pride in shipping. Much of your work will happen in public: sending pull requests to upstream repositories, working through external maintainer review cycles, and participating in developer communities as MongoDB.

You’ll work closest with the engineers sitting next to you, pairing on hard problems, reviewing each other’s code, and dividing up a broad portfolio, with senior engineers and your manager close at hand as you take on larger pieces of it.

MongoDB engineering teams pride themselves on building high-quality software and living our cultural values every day. We value intellectual curiosity, intellectual honesty, customer empathy, and building together in an environment that prioritizes collaboration over competition.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurugram for our hybrid working model.

Position expectations

  • Build, test, and ship MongoDB integrations across a broad AI framework ecosystem that includes technologies like LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, n8n, and Mastra
  • Own well-scoped projects end to end on weekly-to-quarterly timelines, taking responsibility for the scope, schedule, and quality of your own work and communicating progress and trade-offs clearly
  • Solve day-to-day technical problems with growing independence, using the team’s established patterns and past practice to guide your decisions, and seeking guidance on non-standard problems
  • Contribute to exploratory work on new frameworks: help evaluate an integration’s feasibility, build a first working version of the piece you own, and share what you learn with the team
  • Contribute high-quality code upstream to repositories MongoDB doesn’t own, following the team’s contribution practices and maintaining a high standard of professionalism and courtesy through external maintainer review cycles
  • Work within and improve the team’s engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing across framework and server versions, version compatibility checks, and release steps. Suggest improvements where you see repeated friction
  • Help keep the integrations you work on healthy: monitor for upstream breaking changes, handle upgrades, triage incoming issues, and follow through after release
  • Coordinate with adjacent teams, including DBX, when your work depends on driver, platform, or product capability, and escalate cross-team dependencies and risks early rather than working around them
  • Collaborate with product management, product design, and other partners to understand what users need from an integration and how your work connects to the team’s objectives
  • Write clear documentation, give useful code reviews, share what you know with teammates, and follow through on your commitments
  • Develop specialized knowledge of the Python or TypeScript AI builder ecosystems — frameworks, agent and retrieval patterns, vector search — and bring interesting developments back to the team

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building backend systems, libraries, or other developer-facing software, with solid proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
  • Experience designing, writing, testing, and debugging software in a shared, long-lived code base, with an eye for the tests and documentation that make it maintainable
  • Track record of delivering scoped projects reliably and on time, with growing independence and good judgment about when to ask for help
  • Demonstrated ability to work on several projects at once and keep quality and commitments intact as priorities shift
  • Clear interest in modern AI builder workflows and the developer tooling landscape: AI frameworks, agentic patterns, RAG and retrieval, embedding, or vector search
  • Solid verbal and written technical communication, including the ability to write things down clearly for teammates and partners you won’t always overlap with in real time
  • Enjoys collaboration and being part of a close-knit team; is approachable, curious, and intellectually honest
  • Eager to learn, with a strong technical foundation and an interest in deepening it

Nice to Have

  • Open source contributions, especially any work that landed in a repository you don’t own
  • Experience building AI or framework integrations, MCP servers, agent skills, or plugins for agentic applications, professionally or as side projects
  • Familiarity with the agentic AI tooling ecosystem (AI IDEs, CLIs, and assistants) and how developers integrate with it
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated testing for libraries that support multiple versions or platforms
  • Experience working with databases; familiarity with MongoDB query patterns
  • Exposure to vector search, embedding pipelines, or index management
  • Working knowledge of Java, Go, C#, or Rust
  • Experience with containerization tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) and with AI frameworks and libraries
  • Familiarity with Jira and related tools

Success measures

  • In the first month, you will understand the team’s scope, how our integrations are structured, where the relevant repositories and pipelines live, and how we build, test, and release. You’ll have landed your first code contribution and know who to ask when you’re blocked
  • In three months, you will be delivering scoped work on one or more integrations with growing independence, will have landed an upstream contribution, and will be comfortable running the team’s testing and release process for your own changes
  • In six months, you will own a well-defined area or project end to end, deliver against quarterly objectives with limited oversight, and have made at least one concrete improvement to the quality or efficiency of how the team works
  • In twelve months, you will be a dependable owner of a piece of the portfolio, will have delivered multiple meaningful features or integrations, will be handling upstream and customer issues in your area with confidence, and will be helping teammates get up to speed on what you know best

We are seeking a Software Developer to join the InteleShare team and contribute to Intelerad’s secure, cloud-based medical image sharing platform. In this role, you will design and deliver features that connect healthcare providers, imaging centers, hospitals, and patients — enabling timely, accurate diagnoses across institutions and geographies. You will work within a cross-functional Agile team, take ownership of features end to end, and contribute to a platform that handles DICOM medical imaging at scale.

InteleShare is a polyglot platform: a Perl/mod_perl services tier on PostgreSQL, a JavaScript web client (jQuery and vanilla JavaScript across the established pages, React and TypeScript in newer areas), a Java (Spring Boot) storage service backed by S3 and other cloud object stores, and a C#/.NET on-premises harvester that speaks DICOM and HL7 to customer PACS. You will start in one or two of these codebases and grow into the others over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain features across the InteleShare web application and services tier — typically the web front end (jQuery and vanilla JavaScript in the established pages, React in newer areas) and the Perl service APIs it calls — taking ownership from scoping through delivery, ensuring solutions are tested, documented, and meet sprint commitments.
  • Write and tune PostgreSQL queries and schema changes for a large, high-volume production database, following the team’s schema versioning and migration process.
  • Translate customer support escalations and stakeholder requirements into well-engineered technical solutions, reproducing issues across the full stack (browser, API, database, storage, DICOM/HL7 interfaces) and resolving root causes rather than symptoms.
  • Contribute to code quality through thorough pull request reviews, unit and integration tests, and clear documentation, supporting team-wide standards and knowledge sharing.
  • Support DevOps and operational initiatives including containerized AWS/Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipeline maintenance, and participation in production troubleshooting alongside senior engineers.
  • Work as a full-stack generalist across languages and codebases as business needs evolve, identifying opportunities for improvement and taking the initiative to implement them within an Agile/Scrum workflow.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of professional web application development experience, or equivalent experience with a demonstrable track record of delivering production-quality software.
  • Proficiency in at least one server-side language (Perl, Python, Java, C#, Ruby, PHP, or equivalent) and willingness to become productive in Perl, which powers the InteleShare services tier.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including the ability to read query plans and diagnose slow queries.
  • Solid JavaScript skills, including direct DOM and jQuery work; experience with React or a comparable component framework.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a distributed team environment, managing priorities and delivering outcomes with minimal oversight.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex, long-term goals into well-scoped, deliverable increments.
  • Comfort working across multiple languages, frameworks, and problem domains as business needs evolve.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements

  • Perl development experience (mod_perl or other server-side Perl).
  • REST API and PostgreSQL database development expertise.
  • Frontend development experience: JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS/LESS, and React (with Redux, TypeScript, and a component library such as Ant Design in newer areas); familiarity with webpack, Jest, and Playwright or Selenium.
  • Familiarity with containerized deployment: building Docker images and working with Helm charts in a Kubernetes pod deployment model.
  • Git/GitHub version control experience and familiarity with unit and integration testing best practices.
  • AWS cloud services knowledge (S3, EC2, RDS, ECR, CloudWatch).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology in fast-paced development environments.
  • Background in healthcare technology: DICOM, HL7, FHIR, medical imaging, or radiology workflow understanding.
  • Exposure to a regulated development environment (HIPAA, FDA, ISO 13485⁄9001, or similar).

Engineer Sotftware Tester (QA) - InteleShare at Intelerad

Write and maintain automated tests using Java, Cucumber, and Selenium to ensure quality across medical imaging platform components and environments.

What this role involves

Company Description

At Intelerad, we believe the path to answers in healthcare should be clear-whether you are waiting for a diagnosis or trying to expedite one. Our medical imaging solutions streamline the flow of information, simplifying complex processes, maximizing efficiencies, and shining a light on the unknown. We empower physicians to get patients the answers they need faster and improve outcomes for everyone. With more accessible imaging, we are getting patients out of the dark.

Headquartered in Raleigh, NC and Montreal, Intelerad has nearly 800 employees located in offices across four countries. The company empowers nearly 2,000 healthcare organizations around the world with the speed, scalability, and simplicity needed to increase business performance while, most importantly, improving patient outcomes. Intelerad’s modern enterprise solutions have been acknowledged by a Best in KLAS recognition, ranking #1 for PACS Europe UK/Ireland in the 2026 Best in KLAS: Global Software (Non-US) report.

Job Description

As a Software Tester on the InteleShare team, you’ll safeguard the quality of the platform that healthcare providers use to share and exchange medical imaging. Working across the full testing lifecycle, you’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to catch issues before they reach customers, strengthen our automation practices, and help ensure every release meets the reliability our industry demands.

The work is automation-first. InteleShare is covered by a BDD test framework written in Java 17 and Maven — Cucumber feature files driving Selenium page objects for the web UI and Rest-Assured clients for the APIs, with Allure and ExtentReports for results and Jira Xray for test management — executed against nine application components and nine environments through GitHub Actions. You will write and own tests in that framework, not just execute them manually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Execution: Participate in the full testing lifecycle — requirements validation, test planning, and test case development — through functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing, covering image sharing and exchange workflows end to end: DICOM ingestion and retrieval, HL7-driven order and report flows, storage backends, viewer behaviour, and the web application.
  • Automation & Process Improvement: Write and maintain automated tests in the InteleShare framework — Gherkin feature files, Java step definitions, Selenium page objects, and Rest-Assured API tests — and improve the framework’s reliability, coverage, and testability within an Agile Scrum environment.
  • CI & Test Operations: Run and triage regression suites through GitHub Actions across components, environments, browsers, and operating systems; keep results flowing into Jira Xray with useful evidence; and drive down flaky tests so failures mean something.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and report defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and evidence, maintaining traceability in Jira/Xray from business requirements and technical specifications through test cases and executions to resolution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to formulate test scenarios, reproduce customer escalations, troubleshoot issues across the stack, and support post-release and post-implementation testing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with clients and internal stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into effective test coverage.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Up-to-date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies
  • 2+ years of experience as a Software Tester or QA Analyst on web applications, including hands-on test automation, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with project management principles and QA methodology
  • Working knowledge of test management tooling (Jira with Xray, or equivalents such as qTest or Zephyr) and of SQL for verifying data directly in the database (PostgreSQL).
  • Enough programming ability to write and maintain automated tests in an object-oriented language — Java preferred, since the InteleShare framework is Java/Maven — and comfort working in Git/GitHub with pull request reviews.
  • Ability to investigate a failure below the UI: reading application logs, inspecting REST/JSON requests and responses, and using browser developer tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium and a BDD framework (Cucumber/Gherkin), and with API test automation (Rest-Assured, Postman, or similar).
  • Experience running automated suites in CI (GitHub Actions or equivalent) and working with test reporting tools such as Allure or ExtentReports.
  • Cross-browser and cross-platform test experience (Chrome and Firefox on Linux, Windows, and macOS; cloud grids such as BrowserStack).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript test tooling used alongside the front end (Jest, Playwright).
  • Comfort working with containerized test environments — running services as Docker containers or Kubernetes pods.
  • Experience with performance or load testing.
  • Healthcare IT or medical imaging domain knowledge — DICOM, HL7, FHIR, PACS/RIS, or image exchange workflows — is a strong plus.
  • Experience testing in a regulated environment (HIPAA, FDA, ISO 13485⁄9001) and producing validation documentation.
