What this role involves

Headquarters: Sweden

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer on behalf of our client to build, scale, and maintain an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that empowers application software teams to ship code safely, independently, and rapidly. In this role, you will treat the developer platform as a product—building self-service infrastructure abstractions, automated CI/CD capabilities, and guardrails that eliminate operational toil for product developers.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, site reliability engineering (SRE), or core DevOps, with a proven track record of designing and delivering Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs).
  • Expert-level mastery of Kubernetes administration, custom controller/operator architectures, service meshes (Istio/Linkerd), and continuous delivery via GitOps tools (ArgoCD or Flux).

  • Deep proficiency using Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi to construct modular, reusable infrastructure blueprints across cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Strong programming skills in Go or Python to build custom platform extensions, CLI tools, Kubernetes operators, and API integrations.

  • Practical experience building or integrating developer portals (e.g., Backstage, Port) and automated workflow engines to abstract infrastructure complexity.

  • Hands-on experience establishing end-to-end telemetry standards using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for metric, log, and trace aggregation.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with cloud-native control plane abstractions like Crossplane.
  • Exposure to FinOps practices, container cost monitoring (e.g., Kubecost), and automated resource optimization.

  • Active contributions to open-source cloud-native projects (CNCF ecosystem).

  • Strong background in zero-trust security controls, secrets management (HashiCorp Vault), and compliance automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, and maintain self-service platform tools and developer portals that enable product teams to independently provision infrastructure, manage environments, and deploy services.
  • Maintain robust, automated GitOps delivery pipelines using ArgoCD/Flux, establishing safe deployment practices (canary, blue-green, automated rollbacks).

  • Maintain cluster health, upgrade lifecycles, autoscaling policies, and security policies across multi-region Kubernetes deployments.

  • Write production-grade Go/Python code to build custom Kubernetes operators, CLI utilities, and API automation to streamline developer workflows.

  • Establish platform-wide SLI/SLO tracking, implement centralized logging and tracing infrastructure, and enforce automated security and cost-compliance policies across environments.

Operator Gusto, Inc.: Agentic Operations Architect

Designs reusable patterns, standards, and tooling for agentic AI workflows across the organization to accelerate automation and ensure quality.

Senior Hybrid Posted about 7 hours ago We Work Remotely — Programming
What this role involves

Headquarters: Denver, CO - Hybrid; New York, New York, United States; Phoenix, AZ - Remote; San Francisco, CA - Hybrid

About Gusto

At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve.

All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.

AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process.

About the Role:

As an Agentic Operations Architect, you will own the reusable capabilities that make agentic service workflows possible, the patterns, primitives, standards, and tooling that other builders across the org use to automate discrete customer problems. You are not the owner of any single workflow. You are the reason a workflow that took six weeks takes two, and the reason the tenth one is safer than the first. You will prototype workflows yourself, but as a means to an end: to prove a pattern is sound, to find out what builders are missing, and to earn the right to set a standard.

About the Team:

The mission of our Service Transformation (CXT) team is to quickly evolve and scale how Gusto delivers outstanding service experiences and leverages AI to do so. Our team designs the systems, governance frameworks, and feedback loops that allow Gusto's service model to improve continuously, operate reliably, and earn the trust of the customers and employees who depend on it.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

Build the patterns

  • Design the reusable patterns for agentic service workflows, orchestration, HITL protocols, override and escalation logic, quality safeguards, so builders assemble from proven components
  • Set the standards builders work to, concrete enough to apply without you in the room
  • Prototype workflows selectively: to validate a pattern, expose a gap, or unblock a hard problem, then extract the reusable part and hand it off
  • Pull learnings from every build back into the shared patterns, so each one is faster and safer than the last

Shape the platform

  • Influence Product on what to build next: turn what's slowing builders down into specific, prioritized asks backed by evidence
  • Prototype around gaps the platform doesn't cover yet, proving a capability is worth building before USP invests
  • Be honest in both directions about the distance between what builders need and what exists

Point capacity at the right problems

  • Rank automation opportunities by volume, risk, and customer impact, mining SOPs, operational metrics, and interaction data, to determine what gets built and where builders go
  • Work with Data to define how workflow performance gets measured, so every builder measures the same way
  • Identify where there are processes which exist which should not be automated

Carry the quality stakes

  • Bring what's at stake for customers into Legal, Security, Compliance, and platform reviews, so requirements land in the patterns instead of getting retrofitted per workflow
  • Represent how the portfolio is performing to senior stakeholders, briefly, and in a way that drives action

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 8+ years in operations, product, or AI roles — with at least 2 years designing and deploying AI-assisted or agentic workflows in production
  • Hands-on experience with agentic tooling, orchestration frameworks, or MCP-style integrations, including multi-agent coordination — conceptual familiarity is not sufficient at this level
  • Strong fluency with LLM systems: prompt design, evaluation, and how models actually behave at scale
  • Experience designing human-in-the-loop systems with clear escalation logic, override controls, and compliance-aware checkpoints
  • Ability to define and diagnose workflow metrics — solve and assist rate, containment, escalation quality — and to tell a real regression from noise
  • Proven track record influencing Product, Engineering, Legal, Security, and Compliance in writing, in design reviews, and in high-stakes forums
  • Familiarity with Responsible AI practices, governance, and risk management in production
  • Prior experience in a function being actively redefined — you have built the plane while flying it before

Strongly preferred

  • Experience with RAG architectures and retrieval quality optimization
  • Ability to assess whether underlying data structures, quality, and governance can support reliable agentic performance
  • Experience in SaaS, fintech, or regulated environments where compliance constraints are real
  • Exposure to AI governance or safety-oriented review processes

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $168,420/yr to $210,525/yr in Denver & most major metro locations, and $197,895/yr to $247,369/yr for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Gusto.

Gusto is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Product Senior Technical Product Manager: Infrastructure and Platforms at Alpaca

Owns product definition and roadmap for internal infrastructure and platform, prioritizing DevOps and engineering team needs at scale.

Senior Remote Posted about 10 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who We Are:

Alpaca is a US-headquartered, global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure for stocks, ETFs, options, crypto, fixed income, 24⁄5 trading, and more.

Amongst our subsidiaries, Alpaca is a licensed financial services company, serving hundreds of financial institutions across 40 countries with our institutional-grade APIs. This includes broker-dealers, investment advisors, wealth managers, hedge funds, and crypto exchanges, totalling over 10 million brokerage accounts.

Our global team is a diverse group of experienced engineers, traders, and brokerage professionals who are working to achieve our mission of opening financial services to everyone on the planet. We’re deeply committed to open-source contributions and fostering a vibrant community, continuously enhancing our award-winning, developer-friendly API and the robust infrastructure behind it.

Alpaca is proudly backed by $400 million in funding from top-tier global investors including Portage Ventures, Spark Capital, Tribe Capital, Social Leverage, Horizons Ventures, Opera Tech Ventures, SBI Group, Derayah Financial, Unbound, Peak XV, Elefund, and Y Combinator.

Our Team Members:

We’re a dynamic team of 400+ globally distributed members who thrive working from our favorite places around the world, with teammates spanning the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, the UK, and beyond!

We’re searching for passionate individuals eager to contribute to Alpaca’s rapid growth. If you align with our core values—Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable—and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.

Your Role

Build Alpaca’s internal infrastructure and developer platform as a product. You own the product definition and platform maturity strategy, the intake, the backlog, and the multi-quarter roadmap for Platform & Infrastructure, and you put the rails in place so DevOps, Platform, and Infrastructure teams, and the customers know what to prioritize next. Partnering directly with the VP of Engineering.

Alpaca is building infrastructure for programmable finance at global scale: new countries, global markets, products that must stay centralized, and products that must be deployable in any region. This seat exists so that work has a product owner — platform maturity, CI/CD, cost efficiency and attribution, and the infrastructure dependencies that product engineering keeps discovering too late.

Things You Get To Do

Own infrastructure as a product. Define and evolve a platform maturity model in the open. Internal customers are Alpaca engineers. The north star matches the Platform & Infrastructure charter: self-serve infrastructure on paved golden paths – any engineer can build, ship, authenticate, observe, and scale a service without filing a ticket. You are the product owner for Foundational Infrastructure inside the TPM team: efficiency ( cost attribution / chargeback) and the KPIs that prove the platform is getting easier to consume ( full CI/CD delivery and adoption).

Build the rails for monthly delivery. Teams already carve capacity for on-call, support, and upgrades. What remains is discovery and delivery. You make the next pull from a living roadmap obvious. You keep the central backlog and intake sane. You surface platform and infrastructure dependencies before they become surprises on someone else’s roadmap.

Drive platform maturity until maintenance windows disappear. Short term you will feel the pain of coordinating maintenance windows, runbooks, and market-hours constraints — because you cannot eliminate what you have not operated. The goal is 24⁄7 deployability across open and closed markets, globally.

Make the cost a first-class product surface. Work with infrastructure engineering and Finance on attribution, chargeback, and efficiency. This requires technical judgment: you have to understand why a node, a database, or a pipeline costs what it costs. Cost is one program, not the whole job.

Raise CI/CD and developer-platform adoption. Full CI/CD delivery and adoption is a stated KPI for this seat. Partner with DevOps App (ArgoCD, service mesh, API gateway) and Platform (AuthX, event streaming, DevEx) so golden paths get used, not documented and ignored.

Make infrastructure portable for global scale. Distinguish what must stay centralized to serve all of Alpaca from what must be packaged and deployable in new markets Alpaca will expand to.

Who You Are (Must-Haves)

  • 7+ years as a TPM, product manager technical, or equivalent, with a substantial portion of that time owning infrastructure, platform or developer experience.
  • You have owned a multi-team backlog, intake, and roadmap, and you have run a planning cadence that teams actually use.
  • You are technically fluent to be an equal partner to senior/staff engineers on compute infra, deployment pipelines (CI/CD), data stores, networking, and cost drivers. While you do not need to write production Terraform; you do need to know when a proposal is hand-wavy.
  • You get things done without a reporting line. You have influenced platform adoption across many teams.
  • You write and operate with crisp scope. You can say what this role does not own and still leave no gap.
  • You have worked in a market-hours-sensitive or regulated production environment, or another domain where deploy windows, change risk, and customer trust are real constraints.
  • You use AI and automation to remove program toil rather than add tooling.

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves)

  • You have stood up a platform-maturity model, paved-path program, or internal developer platform.
  • You have eliminated or dramatically reduced maintenance windows or change-freeze culture in a production org.
  • Multi-region or multi-entity infrastructure: packaging a platform so a new region or booking center can be stood up without a hero project.
  • Capital markets, brokerage, or other FinTech infrastructure.

How We Take Care of You:

  • Competitive Salary & Stock Options
  • Health Benefits
  • New Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500
  • Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex Card

Alpaca is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.

Engineer Senior Software Engineer, Competitive Benchmarking at MongoDB

Design and execute competitive performance benchmarks against alternative database technologies, build internal tooling and frameworks in Python, and analyze results to inform product decisions.

Senior Hybrid Posted about 11 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

MongoDB’s mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unlock AI.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the PM Benchmarking team in Mexico City. This team designs and executes competitive performance testing that benchmarks MongoDB against alternative technologies, while also building the reusable tooling, frameworks, and engineering practices needed to scale that work over time.

This role is a strong fit for an engineer who wants meaningful hands-on coding time, enjoys performance analysis, and is motivated by turning ambiguous technical questions into clear plans, repeatable systems, and high-impact outputs. You will work across the full lifecycle of a benchmark initiative: design, code, run, analyze, and communicate findings. You will also help improve the internal tooling and engineering workflows that make this work faster, more reliable, and more useful across MongoDB.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Mexico City for our hybrid working model.

What you’ll do

  • Design performance and benchmarking workloads that reflect realistic customer or product scenarios
  • Build and improve production-quality internal tooling, test harnesses, automation, and reusable workload components
  • Write and maintain code primarily in Python, while adapting to adjacent tools and technologies as needed
  • Run benchmarks across cloud environments and database platforms, with attention to fairness, noise reduction, cost, and repeatability
  • Analyze latency, throughput, scalability, and infrastructure signals to identify bottlenecks and explain results clearly
  • Translate broad business or engineering questions into scoped technical plans, success criteria, and execution milestones
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Sales, and other stakeholders to ensure testing work is relevant and actionable
  • Produce clear technical documents, reports, and summaries that connect findings to product decisions and field value
  • Help shape team standards for documentation, onboarding, prioritization, and benchmark execution as the team continues to mature
  • Mentor peers where appropriate and contribute to a collaborative, low-ego engineering culture

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience building, debugging, and improving distributed and/or highly concurrent software systems
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including writing maintainable code, profiling performance, and debugging complex issues
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB architecture, MongoDB Query Language (MQL), and MongoDB performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing methodologies such as load, stress, latency, or scalability testing
  • Experience designing and implementing benchmarking or performance-validation workflows
  • Strong coding skills in Python or a similar language, plus the ability to learn new stacks quickly
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one of the three major cloud providers used for this role, AWS, Azure or GCP, including the practical trade-offs involved in running reliable applications at scale
  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, Cassandra, or other competing data platforms
  • Ability to reason about relational and document data models, distributed systems behavior, and infrastructure bottlenecks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical findings to different audiences
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, define structure where needed, and operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have

  • Experience with CI/CD systems and integrating automated tests into engineering workflows
  • Experience creating reusable technical documentation, runbooks, or internal playbooks

Success in this role

In your first 30 days

  • Build a clear understanding of the team’s current workloads, tooling, roadmap, and stakeholder landscape
  • Complete onboarding and identify the main technical systems, docs, and knowledge gaps relevant to your work
  • Start contributing code, review feedback, and execution support on active benchmark efforts

In your first 90 days

  • Independently contribute to the design, coding, execution, and analysis of multiple benchmark initiatives
  • Improve at least one area of the team’s tooling, documentation, or execution workflow
  • Build strong working relationships with key cross-functional partners

In your first 6 months

  • Own meaningful benchmark or tooling work from scoping through delivery
  • Improve repeatability, clarity, or efficiency in how the team designs, runs, or reports on tests
  • Contribute to mentorship, documentation, or process improvements that increase team autonomy

In your first 12 months

  • Be a trusted technical contributor across benchmark design, tooling, and analysis
  • Influence how the team prioritizes and scales its work
  • Expand your scope through technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and deeper ownership of systems and processes

Product Senior Product Manager (AI CICD) at Chainguard

Senior Product Manager drives vision, strategy, and roadmap for a new AI CI/CD product built for code-writing agents, including 0→1 product development and design partner engagement.

Senior Posted about 14 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Chainguard is the trusted source for open source. By delivering hardened, secure, and production-ready builds of all the open source software engineers and AI agents rely on, Chainguard helps organizations build faster, stay compliant, and eliminate risk.

Our customers include Fortune 500 enterprises and global industry leaders, including Anduril, Canva, Fortinet, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, OpenAI, Snap Inc., and Snowflake.

Chainguard is venture-backed by leading investors, including Amplify, IVP, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mantis VC, Redpoint Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Spark Capital.

Senior Product Manager, AI CI/CD

The role, in a nutshell:

Chainguard secures the software supply chain, and we’re standing up a new team to build a new product inside it.

Agents now write a large and growing share of the world’s code, and they inherited a CI system designed for humans who push a few times a day. Write, push, wait in a queue, reinstall the same toolchain, scrape the logs, try again. Agents iterate far more often than people do, so they feel every minute of that, and the workarounds they’ve grown are worse than the thing they’re working around. We don’t think the fix is a faster version of the CI you already have. We think CI gets rebuilt for agents, and that’s what we’re doing.

The product isn’t launched, so a job post is the wrong place for the details. What we can tell you now: the team is small, the hard technical pieces already run in production inside Chainguard, and you’d be driving the product direction.

What you’ll own:

  • Strategy and roadmap. Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product. Decide what we build first, what comes next, and what we’re not going to do.
  • 0→1 product work. Take this from a system that works for us to a product customers buy and use. Bring structure to problems that don’t have any yet, make the tradeoff calls, and get things in front of users before they feel finished.
  • How agents actually build software. Go deep on how developers and their agents write, test, review, and ship code today, including the parts nobody blogs about. Most of what’s written about agentic development is aspirational. You’ll work from what people really do.
  • Design partners. Find the teams whose agent fleets are big enough to hurt, get the product into their hands early, and turn what they tell you into priorities.
  • Developer experience. Adoption is the whole game here. Own how the product gets tried, configured, and lived with, so a team can move onto it without running a migration project.
  • Launch. Positioning, naming, docs, the pricing model, and the story, with Product Marketing and the rest of Product. You’re also the person who says when it’s ready.
  • Cross-functional leadership. Partner with Engineering, Experience, Product Marketing, and other Product leaders, and keep a small team pointed at the same thing while the space shifts underneath it.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of product management experience on developer-facing, infrastructure, security, or similarly technical products.
  • You’ve built agent tools. Something agents use, or something people use to build with agents: a coding agent, an agent framework or harness, MCP servers, eval systems, or developer tooling meant to be driven by a model instead of a person. This is the requirement that matters most to us.
  • You know CI from the inside. Builds, tests, caches, runners, artifacts, merge gates, and the specific reasons pipelines end up slow, flaky, and expensive. You should have opinions about why.
  • You don’t need to be a GitHub Actions expert. We’re not building a better Actions, and years of workflow YAML isn’t the experience we’re hiring for. Knowing where it breaks is.
  • Experience taking a technical product from an early idea through launch and iteration.
  • Judgment about what to leave out. A new product dies from doing too much as easily as from doing too little.
  • Comfort with a deeply technical engineering team. You can hold your own in a design discussion and disagree with an engineer about a tradeoff.
  • You talk to developers directly and often, and you can tell the difference between technology people find interesting and a product they’ll actually adopt.
  • You write well. We make decisions in documents here.
  • You can operate on your own in a fast-moving area with no established playbook.

Nice to haves

  • You’ve run coding agents in production at real volume, or built the systems that keep them from breaking things.
  • Experience with developer platforms, build systems, remote execution, or hosted development environments.
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes, registries, or other cloud-native infrastructure.
  • You’ve built security products for developers, and you know how fast a developer abandons one that gets in the way.
  • Experience with products that serve individual developers and large enterprises at the same time.
  • You’ve owned your own team’s CI at some point and hated it.
